In reading your web site and now have your address--I will send you a copy of a document we have in our family of payment to my GG Grandfather on Grandmother Luna Lazarine side--in re Antonio Menchaca of Nacogdoches--it is a payment to he from the Federal Troops for services to them--
on this is the signature of A.S. Johnston and Juan N. Seguin
with his "x" affixed under his name.  What is strange is Albert Syndey Johnston was the ggg uncle of my husband--so could say we must of been destined to meet--but what is even more strange--my nephew-in-law lives on CR 313 in Plantersville--

Also--I have copy of the affidavit of my GG Grandfather Francisco Lazarin and his brother Antonio Lazarine in they also applying for the Texas Independance service--they testified they served in the company of Luis Sanchez and was at the house of Carlos Guerra when he married as Francisco was recooping from wounds suffered on their return home from San Jacinto at the Neches River in an indian fight.  From your statement in Juan receiving--now know what actually pertained to -- as we thought was maybe their allegiance statement to the US Gov in re them being "real" texans even though they served in the civil war--GG Uncle Antonio lived in Wilson County and GG Grandfather there on and off between Nacogdoches.
